Ricardo Falú unites our global Strategy, Commercial and Marketing teams to set AES’ long term strategy as we accelerate the future of energy while enabling our customers’ energy transitions and raising awareness of the transformative work we are doing all together with our stakeholders.

Ricardo has brought his diverse experiences in energy, finance, legal and business to AES over the last 19 years. Under his leadership as President of the Andes SBU and CEO of AES Andes, including AES Chile, AES Colombia and AES Argentina, Ricardo launched our transformational Greentegra strategy through which we are accelerating the decarbonization of Chile, advancing the diversification of Colombia’s electricity system and supporting energy integration with Argentina. 

He recently joined the both the Fluence and AES Andes Boards of Directors.

Prior to his role as President of the Andes SBU and CEO of AES Andes, Ricardo served as the CFO for our businesses in the Andes and in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean regions. He focused on Strategic and Financial Planning, Accounting and Tax to help build a strong and competitive renewables pipeline as CFO. Since joining AES in 2003, Ricardo has accelerated our company’s transformation through additional leadership roles in Corporate Finance, FP&A, Investor Relations, M&A and Strategy.

Ricardo is a National Public Accountant as certified by the Universidad Nacional de Salta in Argentina and graduated summa cum laude with an Executive MBA from IAE Business School. He continued his education through executive financial, business and management programs at Darden Business School, The Wharton School and Harvard Business School.

Ricardo resides in Maryland. He enjoys playing soccer and tennis, and loves to travel with his wife and three kids.
